چکیده

We investigate a generalisation of the three dimensional spring-pendulum system. The problem depends on two real parameters (k, a), where k is the Young modulus of the spring and a describes the nonlinearity of elastic forces. We show that this system is not integrable when k 6= −a. We carefully investigated the case k = −a when the necessary condition for integrability given by the Morales-Ramis theory is satisfied. We discuss an application of the higher order variational equations for proving the non-integrability in this case. PACS numbers: 05.45.-a,02.30.Hq,45.20Jj Submitted to: J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. Towards a Factored Analysis of Legged Locomotion Models

In this paper, we report on a new stability analysis for hybrid legged locomotion systems based on factorization of return maps. We apply this analysis to a family of models of the Spring Loaded Inverted Pendulum (SLIP) with different leg recirculation strategies. We obtain a necessary condition for the asymptotic stability of those models, which is formulated as an exact algebraic expression d...

Design of H-infinity Controller for A Linear Spring Connected Double Inverted Pendulum

A modified double inverted pendulum – modified by connecting the mass carrying the pendulum with another mass through a spring makes the general inverted pendulum become a more interesting problem. The system is defined as a linear spring connected double inverted pendulum as proposed by Hou et al. [1],[2]. The system is highly nonlinear and unstable. However, the system can be simplified to a ...

Magnetic Flows on Homogeneous Spaces∗

We consider magnetic geodesic flows of the normal metrics on a class of homogeneous spaces, in particular (co)adjoint orbits of compact Lie groups. We give the proof of the non-commutative integrability of flows and show, in addition, for the case of (co)adjoint orbits, the usual Liouville integrability by means of analytic integrals. We also consider the potential systems on adjoint orbits, wh...

Numerical solution of higher index DAEs using their IAE's structure: Trajectory-prescribed path control problem and simple pendulum

In this paper, we solve higher index differential algebraic equations (DAEs) by transforming them into integral algebraic equations (IAEs). We apply collocation methods on continuous piece-wise polynomials space to solve the obtained higher index IAEs. The efficiency of the given method is improved by using a recursive formula for computing the integral part. Finally, we apply the obtained algo...

Stability Analysis of Legged Locomotion Models by Symmetry-Factored Return Maps

We present a new stability analysis for hybrid legged locomotion systems based on the “symmetric” factorization of return maps.We apply this analysis to two-degrees-of-freedom (2DoF) and threedegreesoffreedom (3DoF) models of the spring loaded inverted pendulum (SLIP) with different leg recirculation strategies. Despite the non-integrability of the SLIP dynamics, we obtain a necessary condition...
